Shopian Encounter:Two LeT Militants Killed

Two militants have been killed in a pre dawn encounter at Hind Sitapora area of South kashmir’s Shopian on Sunday Reports said that a joint team of forces including army’s 34RR and SOG Shopian cordoned off Sitapora after having credible input about presence of some militants in the area. As the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon government forces triggering an encounter. A senior Police official confirmed that two militants have been killed in exchange of fire between militants and government forces. He said two dead bodies have been retrieved whose identification is being ascertained. Sources identified the killed militants as Police man turned militant namely Tariq Ahmad from Khasipora Shopian and Basharat Ahmad shah from Nikloora Pulwama.(KNO)
