JAMMU, April 09 : Udhampur Police has detained 3 persons of Srinagar and a Truck driver of Banihal along with Rs 11 lakh cash, which was supposed to be used for election campaign.
As per police sources, Police intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK01AE-2911, which was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar.
During checking, police team recovered Rs 11 lakh cash from the truck.
They have been identified as Imran Mehraj Batoo son of Mehraj Din, Wasim Bashir Shera son of Bashir Ahmed Shera and Fiaz Ahmed Khusoo son of Late Abdul Gani Khusoo, all residents of Rainawari, Srinagar and Mohammad Aslam (driver), son of Mohammad Ramzan Bhat of Nougam, Banihal.
It is pertinent to mention here that in J&K, election campaign is going on and according to Model Code of Conduct a person can carry Rs 50,000 cash with him/her.
