Three hit by pellets in clashes near handwara gunfight

Three persons were hit by pellets during clashes near the site of a gunfight between the militants and the government forces in Langate area of Handwara on Friday.

Reports and witnesses said that youth took to streets soon after the gunfight broke out near the site of the gunfight in Babgund village during the night.

Two militants have been reportedly killed so far in the gunfight.

Three persons who had received pellet injuries were shifted to a health centre in Unisoo. “Three persons with pellet injuries were brought to the facility. Two with pellet injuries in their eyes were referred to district hospital Handwara,” Block Medical Officer Langate Nazir Ahmad told Greater Kashmir.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in Handwara area while the Internet has been suspended in police district Handwara.
