NSS Plans Out Strategy For Beti Bachao Beti Padao In Kishtwar

Around five thousand (5000) families (both rural & urban) shall be covered for BBBP awareness: Programme Officer
Kishtwar: The NSS unit Kishtwar worked out a complete strategy on BETI BACHAO BETI PADAO through out the length & breadth of Kishtwar district & adjoining Villages (Panchayats) here in district Kishtwar of the state Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the NSS programme officer Assistant Professor Mr. Faisal Mushtaq Kitchloo, around 80 volunteers took part in the meeting and a Tarana on Beti bachao were prepared & designed by the Volunteers which will be presented before the public. It was decided to cover around five thousand (5000) families (both rural & urban) for BBBP awareness. Three counters will be established in the city where volunteers work shift wise to distribute material regarding BBBP to general public. Door to Door awareness campaign will also be taken care off & the areas identified for this include Matta, lachkhazana, Lachdayaran A&B, Pochaal A&B, Hidyal, Malipeth, Town A&B, Hasti, Hudri and Gurian etc, Programme Officer said.
He further said that around one thousand households will be covered for the same. Mega rallies in collaboration with different schools will be organised & Audio Visual Beti bachao beti padao Awareness will also be given at bus stand, hidyal chowk, shaheedi chowk, near dak bunglow, kuleed chowk. An innovative idea called BETI MELA will be celeberated where around 1000 Female students(from college, ITI, polytechnique college, schools, B.ed college & there parents will be invited for pledge to carry on this campaign forward after 31st March, he said.
“Those mothers who gave birth to female child in 2018 (record from hospital labour ward) will also be invited in BETI MELA & will be felicitated on the occasion. Ten Versatile Female volunteers will be nominated as Ambassdors for Beti Bachao Beti Padao. Debate, quiz & painting competitions on theme BETI BACHAO will also be organised where both male & female students will be involved but these competitions will be organised & managed by only female volunteers”, he said.
In consultation with Municipal committee, another innovative programme called BETI -THE PILLAR will be organised in each ward where key speakers including religious heads will be involved.
The NSS Programme Officer Prof. Faisal Mushtaq kichloo has set the target to aware around 100000 (one lakh) people of the district kishtwar on the sensitive issue of BETI BACHAO.
