Snowfall: Authorities issue telephone numbers for general public

Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar convened a meeting to review the arrangements/ preparedness for Snow clearance/dewatering in District Srinagar with the Senior officers of PHE, PDD, Health, SMC, Traffic, MED, UEED, Drainage, CAPD, Medical, Fire and Emergency Services etc.
It was informed that Departments are ready to meet any eventuality, besides they have kept standby adequate men and machinery for snow clearance. Further all the Departments have established Control Rooms for the convenience of general public.
Deputy Commissioner directed all the Departments to ensure timely clearance of Snow from the main roads, lanes and by lanes especially roads leading to important installations i.e. Hospitals, Receiving Stations etc.
PDD/PHE Departments will ensure uninterrupted Power/ Water Supply, during winters so that people may not suffer. He directed all the departments to keep close coordination with each other.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar (Cell No. 9419151189) Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) (Cell No. 7006690719), Sub-Divisional Magistrate (East) (Cell No. 9018991010) will function as Nodal Officers to monitor the situation within their area of jurisdiction.
